Community, four square and a clean house

Did you have a good weekend?

Me too. Starting Friday morning.

Friday morning I got to spend a couple hours with two friends of mine who are student pastors in Elgin. We met for breakfast under the guise of planning a big service project in the spring. And we did talk about that – for 20 minutes. Ed and Josh had never actually met before, so we introduced ourselves, updated each other on the ministry from where we sit, encouraged each other, talked about students we all know, requested prayer, celebrate the ups with genuine enthusiasm, vented the downs to empathetic ears, and decided we need to do that more often.

I don’t think any of us expected to be there for 2 hours, but it was two of the most refreshing (therapeutic?) hours I’ve had in a long time.

Friday night was good too. God is doing awesome things with our students, and I am so pumped about this Good Friday art exhibit. If you’re in the area: April 10, 6:30 PM, 430 Airport Road in Elgin. You don’t want to miss the first annual.

Saturday was breakfast with John Clark (yes THE John Clark), driving a friend to work, officially rousing the beast from her winter slumber,

getting the four square ball off the roof of the church, grilling with the boys,

four square, and two hours of prayer/worship.

Sunday was more four square, Bible study, four square, and dinner at mom and dad’s. Husband’s birthday is Tuesday (psst – tomorrow, Tuesday); my parents bought him a Nerf gun, which he likes more than anyone thought he would. Cuuute.

I’m exhausted. How about you? How was your weekend?
